
Pettersson Takes Home Second-Straight Women’s Golfer-Of-The-Month Honor

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – East Carolina junior Lisa Pettersson was selected as the American Athletic Conference Women's Golf Player-of-the-Month for the month of October, the league announced on Tuesday. For Pettersson, it's her second-straight monthly honor following her selection in September.
For the month of October, Pettersson appeared in three events recording a pair of top 6 finishes which included her first collegiate win at the Pinehurst Challenge. She carded a personal-best 208 (8-under par) at Pinehurst No. 1 leading No. 40 East Carolina (59-15-1) to its second-straight tournament title of the season with a 54-hole score of 861 (3-under), which ranks as the third-lowest tournament score in school history.
Pettersson followed her tournament win with a sixth place finish (out of 92 golfers) at the Greenville Regional Preview posting an 8-over par 224 where the Pirates took fifth out of 16 teams. She posted rounds of 73, 78 and 73 finishing among the tournament leaders in total pars (t3/37), par-4 scoring (t5/4.20) and par-5 scoring (t8/4.92). The Taby, Sweden native closed out the month claiming a share of 27th at the Cardinal Cup with a score of 230 (14-over par) helping the Pirates to a fifth place finish (916/52-over par).
Pettersson closed out the fall portion of her schedule with a 72.93 stroke average over five events where she recorded four top six finishes and a No. 48 national ranking by GolfStat. The Pirates will return to action Feb. 5-7 when they participate in the UCF Challenge in Orlando, Fla.
