
Barnes Announces First East Carolina Lacrosse Recruiting Class

GREENVILLE, N.C. – East Carolina lacrosse head coach Amanda Barnes has signed 21 student-athletes to national letters of intent to attend the university and compete for the Pirates beginning in the fall of 2017. The group is comprised of signees hailing from 11 different states including four from North Carolina.

"We are very excited to announce the inaugural recruiting class for the East Carolina women's lacrosse team," Barnes said. "The young women that have committed to play at ECU know that we are striving to be a nationally competitive program and that we are all on a mission to get better at what we do in the classroom and on the lacrosse field every day. Â We look forward to working with this group of young women to establish an inclusive, open minded and positive competitive team culture. Our staff eagerly awaits welcoming them and their families as members of Pirate Nation next fall."

- Helped lead the Vikings to the 2015 and 2016 Nassau County Conference II championships
- Intends to major in art/graphic design

- Intends to major in biology/pre-med

- Intends to major in nursing with a minor in psychology

- Intends to major in psychology with a minor in sociology
