Pirates Host ECU Fall Shootout This Weekend

GREENVILLE, N.C. - The East Carolina men's tennis team will open its 2016-17 campaign when it hosts the ECU Fall Shootout beginning Friday, Sept. 16 at the River Birch Tennis Complex.Â
The tournament will run through the weekend with Friday's action starting at 11Â a.m., while first serve for Saturday's and Sunday's matches will be at 9Â a.m., both days. River Birch is located at 513 W. Arlington Boulevard, across the street from J.H. Rose High School.
In addition to the Pirates, players representing College of Charleston, Elon, James Madison, Richmond and UNC Greensboro will compete in singles and doubles matches.
East Carolina returns seven letterwinners from its 2015-16 team that posted an 11-13 overall record in dual matches last spring. Additionally, newcomers including freshman Javier Renones and redshirt sophomore Freddie McGeehan expect to provide the Pirates with necessary depth during their first seasons in purple and gold.
