
Stefano Migliorati Advances To NCAA Quarterfinals In 800-Meter Run

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Sophomore Stefano Migliorati kept his season alive Thursday evening, advancing to the national quarterfinals in the 800m as the NCAA East Preliminary began at the University of Kentucky Outdoor Track and Field Facility.

Migliorati ran a time of 1:48.90 which is the new outdoor 800-meter school record. He finished third in his heat to automatically move on to tomorrow's race while also posting the fourth-fastest time of any competitor.

The Pirates had four other athletes in action at the regional. Sophomore Courtney Warner finished 28th in the 100m with a time of 11.68 while in the javelin, senior Lauren Lubarski placed 18th with a mark of 45.49 meters. In the long jump, sophomore Hakeem Horton took 22nd at 7.24 meters and senior Cheyenne Hutchinson captured 17th with a mark of 6.17 meters.

Day two of the event begins Friday at 2 p.m. when juniors Mohogany Baker and Galissia Cause compete in the discus.
