
Track And Field Continues Participation At NCAA East Preliminary

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Six more members of the East Carolina track and field program were in action Friday evening at the NCAA East Preliminary inside the University of Kentucky Outdoor Track And Field Facility.

A pair of Pirates competed in the discus in juniors Mohogany Baker and Galissia Cause. Baker, the American Athletic Conference champion in the event, tallied a mark of 47.98 to finish in 31st place while Cause was unable to record a distance. Senior Lauren Lubarski took 44th place in the high jump, clearing a height of 1.64 meters, and senior Adam Manns placed 25th in the shot put with a mark of 17.60 meters.

On the track, senior Cheyenne Hutchinson finished 36th in the 100-meter hurdles in a time of 13.69. In the national quarterfinal of the 800m, sophomore Stefano Migliorati took sixth in his heat and 17th overall with a time of 1:49.29.

The third and final day of the regional begins Saturday at 2 p.m. when the men's discus gets underway featuring Manns.
