GREENVILLE, N.C. – The East Carolina softball team has secured the No. 6 seed for the upcoming American Athletic Conference Championship according to an announcement of the tournament bracket Sunday by the league. The event is scheduled for May 11-13 with ECU serving as the host institution.

Tickets, both single session and all session, are available for purchase by visiting the East Carolina Online Ticket Office or by calling (252) 737-4500.

The Pirates (25-29, 5-13 American) will open play against No. 3 seed UCF (29-22, 11-7 American) in the quarterfinals at 4 p.m. EDT Thursday. East Carolina run-ruled the Knights 9-0 in five innings in the opener of the teams' regular season series before UCF won the final two games to claim the set.

The single-elimination tournament begins at 11 a.m. Thursday as No. 4 seed USF (32-23, 9-8 American) will face off against No. 5 seed Memphis (28-26, 7-11 American). The Bulls swept the Tigers in the regular season.

Houston (28-24, 12-6 American) is the No. 2 seed in the tournament, and will face No. 7 seed UConn (17-30, 3-14 American) on Thursday at 1:30 p.m. During the regular season series, Houston produced three wins over UConn at the Cougar Softball Stadium.

Tulsa (37-15, 15-3 American) clinched the No. 1 seed last weekend and will have a quarterfinal bye. The Golden Hurricane will play in Friday's semifinals against the winner of the No. 5-seeded Memphis and No. 4-seeded USF at 1 p.m. The second semifinal is set for 3:30 p.m.
