
‘Cliff’s Cab’ Named Finalist for SVG/NACDA College Sports Media Award

GREENVILLE, N.C. – East Carolina's popular social media series 'Cliff's Cab' was named a finalist for the 9th Annual Sports Video Group (SVG)/National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) College Sports Media Awards. 'Cliff's Cab', now in its second season is up for the Outstanding Program Series in Collegiate Athletics. Additionally, ECU's 'Road to Omaha' video is a finalist in the Collegiate Student section of Outstanding Promotion, PSA, Tease, or Marketing Campaign category.
"We are honored that 'Cliff's Cab' and short-form promotional video, 'ECU Baseball: Road to Omaha' have been selected as finalists," ECU Assistant Athletics Director for Marketing & Fan Engagement Greg Herring said. "The dedicated efforts and creativity of our staff which has taken our digital content to the level of receiving national recognition, is to be commended. I would personally like to thank Whitney Marks, Brian Meador and recent ECU graduate Tyler Bailey for their contributions."
The SVG/NCADA College Sports Media Awards represent various college athletic and academic departments as well as professional networks, production companies and student productions. There are 20 categories spread across four divisions.
Joining 'Cliff's Cab' as finalists for the Outstanding Program Series is 'For Glory' (James Madison Athletics), 'The Foundation' (Northwestern Football), 'Gamecock Confidential – Carolina Football: Forever to Thee' (South Carolina/Gamecock Productions), 'ICON' (Notre Dame/Fighting Irish Media) and 'Wisconsin Football: Homegrown' (Wisconsin).
The final round of judging will take place leading up to the 2017 SVG College Sports Summit in Atlanta, Ga., on June 1 and will be hosted by ESPN's Tom Rinaldi.
