Lindberg Scores Twice in Pirates' First Road Win

Davidson, N.C. – ECU's Annah Lindberg recorded her first career multi-goal game in the Pirates' first road match of the season in a 2-1 win over Davidson. ECU improves to 2-0 overall while Davidson falls to 1-2 on the season. Veronica Thordardottir assisted Lindberg's first goal for her first career helper as a Pirate.Â

After a scoreless first half, the Pirates went ahead in the 48th minute when Lindberg found the back of the net on a header off of Thordardottir's corner kick. Allison Gray evened the match at 1-1 in the 87th minute but Lindberg responded less than a minute later to give ECU a 2-1 lead.

Graduate student Michelle Newhouse made a pair of saves and allowed one goal in a complete game for her first career appearance with the Pirates.
