LEXINGTON, Va. – The ECU track and field program enjoyed great success in Virginia this weekend, taking part in the Keydet Invitational on the campus of the Virginia Military Institute. The women won the meet in landslide fashion, topping the 17-team field, while the men placed third out of 16 competing squads during the two-day event.
Â
"As a coaching staff we were extremely pleased with a lot of our performances today," Director of Men's and Women's Track and Field and Cross Country Curt Kraft said. "We looked like a completely different team compared to week ago. I know it's still early in our indoor season, but both teams are feeling really good about their early-season accomplishments. We saw a very good field of teams this weekend. It was very exciting to win the women's meet and get third on the men's side. I just explained to both teams in a meeting that we have to enjoy this success and move on. We have to continue to stay healthy and work hard each and every week. Hopefully we have a great week of weather to get prepared for liberty this upcoming weekend."
