Mascot Appearance Request
Thank you for your interest in having PeeDee participate in your upcoming event. Please review the following guidelines before completing your request. If you would like to inquire about an appearance by the dance team please email Kristin Jeffries (jeffriesk@ecu.edu) or for the cheerleading squad please email Madi Lamm (ecuspirit@ecu.edu).
Appearance Policies
- Requests for non-university events should be submitted one month prior to the event and no less than one week prior to the event. Submitting a request does not guarantee an appearance.
- Due to University events, academics, and time restrictions, appearances outside of athletic events are only available on a limited basis. Appearances are available throughout the year; however the summer months, as well as holiday breaks, may be harder to fulfill an appearance request due to school being out of session.
- All advertising and publicity for the event that include ECU and/or PeeDee, whether in advance or afterwards, which mentions the appearance or uses the college's marks (logos), must be approved by the East Carolina University Athletics Marketing Department before use.
- A private and secure changing room must be provided for appearance members to change and keep belongings locked for security during the appearance.
- The maximum appearance time will not exceed hours hours. The mascot cannot be required to be in the costume for longer than 45 minutes at a time before taking a break. If appearance is outdoors during hot weather, please allow for more frequent breaks.
- The mascot is unable to perform in severe weather; the mascot costume cannot get wet.
- Bottled water must be available at all times.
- A friendly and safe environment must be maintained. The mascot reserves the right to walk away from any appearance deemed unsafe or harmful.
- $200 per hour per appearance for corporate and private events.
- $100 per hour per University departments or non-profit events.
- ECU Student Organizations should call for pricing and availability
- All payments must be received three business days prior to event. You will receive an invoice upon confirmation of the appearance request. Checks should be made payable to East Carolina Cheerleading.
- Only official sponsors of ECU Athletics will be allowed to advertise/use Pee Dee's appearance in such a way as to promote products and/or services. Pee Dee should be used to add to the festivities of your event (i.e, birthday party, retirement party, corporate outing, etc.). - All cancelations or reschedules require a 24 hour notice or they will be subject to charges.
