Bob Maynard

Maynard was an outstanding football player from 1954-57 on both offense and defense. He was a four-year letterman and was named to the list of Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges. He was also outstanding in track and field in the 100-yard dash and 220-yard low hurdles. He was the conference champion in the 220-yard dash in 1957.
Maynard graduated in 1958 with a bachelor's of science degree, and then began work with the John Deere Company, being named Vice President at the young age of 32. He retired in 1996 as the Vice President of the southeast division in Atlanta. An active member of the ECU Educational Foundation since 1980, Maynard is also a former Pirate Club President.
