Maurice Everette's outstanding play led him to conference championships three years in a row.
During his career from 1955 to 1958, Everette's conference record was 39 wins and one loss and his overall record was 69 wins and 9 losses.
In 1958, Everette was named Athlete of the Year at East Carolina College and was presented with the Outstanding Achievement Award given by students and the President of the school.
