Meredith Bridgers
- Induction:
- 2001
- Class:
- 1991
Meredith Bridgers redefined swimming at East Carolina during her four years in the program. By advancing to the NCAA championships in 1990 and 1991, she became the first ECU female in any sport to qualify for an individual NCAA Division I championship.
Specializing in the 100- and 200-yard breaststroke, she was the Colonial Athletic Association champion in both events for four consecutive years (1988-91), becoming the first swimmer to accomplish that feat. An outstanding student, she was also a two-time CAA scholar-athlete.
She was the first women's swimmer to be enshrined into the ECU Athletics Hall Of Fame.
