Bobby Hodges played football and basketball for four years at East Carolina from 1950-53 and was an All-America selection in both sports.
Hodges was named captain of the football team for his senior year in 1953. He was also a member of the Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges, proving he was not only a top athlete but also a top student.
During his four years at East Carolina, Hodges also was a participant in the East Carolina Varsity Club. Hodges recorded 10 touchdown receptions as a senior. For his career in basketball, Hodges still ranks as the all-time career points leader with 2,018.
In 1993, Hodges was honored by the State of North Carolina, as he was inducted into the North Carolina Athletic Hall of Fame.
