An Honorable Mention All-American, Ron Hastings was a standout in the Pirate baseball program from 1968 to 1971.
Hastings pitched for ECU and in 1970, led the nation with a 0.56 ERA. A two-time All-Southern Conference selection (1969, 1970) and 1970 All-NCAA Region III selection, Hastings tossed nine shutouts during his career, including four during the 1969 season.
Hastings allowed just 10 runs in 81 innings pitched during 1970 and completed his career with an ERA of 1.70.
