ECU-Louisville to be Televised by WITN
October 17, 2002 | Football
WITN, the Official Station of the Pirates, is an affiliate of NBC and with its central studios located in Washington, N.C.
The game, which will kickoff at approximately 2 p.m. EDT from Louisville's Papa John's Cardinal Stadium, could potentially match up two teams unbeaten in Conference USA play. ECU is 2-0 in league play (2-3 overall) heading into this Saturday's non-conference game against South Florida. Louisville is 2-0 in C-USA and 4-2 overall and faces conference foe TCU this Saturday. ECU has won four of the seven all-time meetings, but the teams have split their four meetings since joining C-USA. The last two games have both been decided by five points or less.
Jeff Charles, the "Voice of the Pirates," will move over from the Pirate Sports Radio Network booth to handle play-by-play duties for the television broadcast. He will be joined by WITN sports director Billy Weaver, who will provide analysis.
The game will be the second of four televised by WITN this season. The station will also televise ECU's road games at Houston (Nov. 9) and UAB (Nov. 16). Earlier this season, WITN brought the ECU-West Virginia game to eastern North Carolina viewers.
