Darryl Lawhorn Named Preseason All-America

GREENVILLE, N.C. ? East Carolina sophomore third baseman Darryl Lawhorn has been named first-team preseason All-America by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association of America.
Lawhorn, the 2002 Conference USA Freshman of the Year, was voted third-team All-America by the association as a freshman, while being named Co-National Freshman of the Year by Collegiate Baseball. Lawhorn also earned first team all-conference and C-USA Tournament MVP honors.
He set multiple ECU freshmen and single season records last year as he finished the season with the fifth highest single season average in school history (.416) and third most home runs (19).
