"We are so excited about our three signees," said Munson. "Each one has so much to offer our program. They are all competitors that being championship level experience."
Krug, a 5-8 setter from Kildeer, Ill., is a senior at Adlai Stevenson High School, where she helped her team to the finals of the Illinois High School Association (IHSA) Class 2A Sectional this season. She was named all-area and All North Suburban Conference in 2002.
"Heidi is such a fiery competitor and a leader on the floor," said Munson. "She will bring an understanding of what it takes to run an offense and will be a fine compliment to our program."
Bevan is a senior at Geneva High School in Geneva, Ill., where she was a teammate of current Pirate volleyballer Katie Jannusch. Bevan, a 6-2 middle blocker, was instrumental in leading her team to the finals of the IHSA Class 2A Sectional. She set school records for blocks in a single season with 158, and had a team high 181 kills during the 2002 season. Bevan was named honorable mention all-state and was a Daily Herald Tri-Cities All-Area Team Honorary Captain.
"Jamie is an offensive and defensive threat to any opponent," said Munson. "She will bring physical play and court intensity to our team."
Harper, a 6- 4 middle blocker from Dover, N.C., is the Pirates' only local signee this fall. A senior at West Craven High School, she was named all-conference and all-area in 2002. While at West Craven, Harper was a four year starter for the Eagles, and led the team in kills (208) in her final season, helping her team earn a berth to the state 3A playoffs.
"At 6-4, Alisisa brings tremendous athleticism and a love of the game," said Munson. "As a product of West Craven, we are happy to continue the relationship with Eastern North Carolina and ECU Athletics."
