East Carolina Head Coach Bill Herrion
"I addressed the players at half time about their energy on defense. We were struggling on offense, and William & Mary deserves credit for playing aggressive and physical on our guys in the post. We responded by holding William & Mary to 18 points in the second half.
"This is a really tough week being the holidays. There are no students on campus, and our kids have a lot of down time. I could feel in practice this past week that the energy level was down. I feel for these kids."
"What we have to learn is how to come into the gym everyday and practice, because how you practice is how you will play. "
"The crowd was great. They really appreciate this basketball team."
William & Mary Head Coach Rick Boyages
"We went through a stint where we had three or four turnovers and ECU got some transition baskets. We did a terrific job on (Gabriel) Mikulas and (Erroyl) Bing, containing them on the inside. I thought we outplayed ECU in the first half.
"We knew they weren't a great perimeter shooting team, but the headache was they scored off of our mistakes. The turnovers really hurt us. ECU was able to break off some transition baskets. ECU's strength is its ability to run off of blocked shots and turnovers."
"After we shot over 50 percent from the floor, they pressured the ball a little tighter and really came after us."
