
Lady Pirates to Participate in Atlanta Holiday Tournament

The East Carolina women's basketball team will participate in the Atlanta Marriott NW Classic, sponsored by Georgia Tech, on December 30-31. The Lady Pirates will take on Florida Atlantic in the opening round at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, December 30 and face either the host team or St. John's on Tuesday, December 31 at 1 or 3 p.m.
SCOUTING THE PIRATES
Courtney Willis leads the Pirates in
scoring this season, averaging 14.1 points per
game. Tali Robich (12.1) and Jennifer
Jackson (12.8) are close behind, also averaging
double numbers.
The Lady Pirates are 4-4 this season, with wins coming over Howard, Bethune- Cookman, Alabama, and North Carolina A&T.
The Pirates are shooting 43.3 percent from the field this season, and 64.7 percent from the free throw line.
In six of the Pirates' eight games this season, three or more players have posted double-figure points. The only two games in which three players didn't hit double-figured scoring were the Duke and North Carolina A&T games. Robich was the only player to score 10 or more points. She had 13 on the night. Robich and Willis were the only two players to have double scoring figures against North Carolina A&T. Each of the women had 14 points in that game.
