Pirates Place Three on All C-USA Football Team

The All-Conference USA Team is selected by the league's 10 head coaches and media members in each conference city.
For Rimpf, a junior and native of Raleigh, N.C., it marks his second consecutive first-team All C-USA selection. As a starting offensive tackle for the past two seasons, he has paved the way for two consecutive 1,000-yard rushers -- All-American Leonard Henry in 2001 and Art Brown this season. After being named a third-team Preseason All-American by Football News, he has raked in the honors this season both on and off the field as he was just 11 players nationally named to the AFCA Good Works Team and was also recently recognized as a second-team Verizon Academic All-American.
Preston, a senior and native of Tucson, Ariz., is a first-time All-Conference USA selection. He leads the league in punting this season with a 43.5-yard average and has ranked among the nation's top 10 in that category for the majority of the season. He is on track to break the ECU career record for best punting average. Preston has placed 15 of his 66 punts this season inside the opponent's 20-yard line and has boomed 18 for 50 yards or more.
Brown, a junior and native of Winston-Salem, N.C., is currently third in the conference in rushing, averaging 102.9 yards a game. With 1,029 yards, he is only the 11th player in school history to rush for over 1,000 yards in a season and enters the season finale against Cincinnati needing one more touchdown to break the ECU season scoring record. Brown has scored 17 touchdowns this season--14 rushing and three receiving--and currently ranks seventh in the nation in scoring.
The Pirates will close out their 2002 season on Friday night (7 p.m.) at home against Cincinnati in a game televised live by ESPN2.
