Men's Cross Country Team Defeats VCU In Dual Meet

Sophomore Kyle MacKenzie and freshman Kristian Jorgensen were the Pirates top finishers, tying for second place with a time of 16:25. VCU's Pius Stucki finished in first place with a time of 16:01.
Junior Ron Delzer was ECU's third top finisher with a time of 16:33, to finish in fourth place overall. Freshman Jason Lee placed fifth with a time of 16:36.
"This was a very good opener for us," said head coach Len Klepack. "We've have a very young team and a lot to look forward to this season and in the future,"
The Pirates will compete in their first multi-team meet of the year on September 7 at the Elon Invitational.
