Pigskin Pig-Out to Kickoff Home Opener Weekend

Fans can get barbecue plates for lunch on Saturday beginning at 11 a.m. Drive-thru barbecue plate pick-up will be available from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. off Charles Boulevard at ECU's Harrington Field (ECU baseball field). For fans picking up tickets for the game Saturday or touring the new Strength and Conditioning Center, the main barbecue tent located adjacent to Gate 6 of Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium will be open for fans who walk up.
Beginning at 3 p.m., when all parking lots open for the ECU vs. Tulane football game, barbecue plates can be picked up at five different walk-up locations. Those locations will be: ECU baseball field lot, White parking lot, Berkley Drive, Gold parking lot, and the lower Minges parking lot. Fans can pick up plates at any of these convenient locations and enjoy Pigskin Pig-Out barbecue as they tailgate before the game.
Advance barbecue plates orders are being accepted now by calling (252) 328-4500. Plates are $5 in advance and $6 on game day.
Proceeds from the Pigskin Pig-Out go to support athletic scholarships through the Pirate Club.
The Pig-Out kicks off Friday evening at 6 p.m. when rides and games open in the Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium parking lot. Live music from The Breeze Band is set for 8 p.m., followed by the popular Parade of Pigs at 9:15 and a fireworks show at 9:45 p.m. The ECU cheerleaders and the Pirate mascot will be on hand as fans enjoy a variety of food and amusements throughout the evening.
Participants in the Pig Cookin' Contest will fire up their portable cookers at 10 p.m. Friday night with judging taking place Saturday morning at 8 a.m.
Tours of ECU's new strength and conditioning center, which will be dedicated prior to the Tulane game, will be available on Friday afternoon and Saturday morning.
Kickoff for the football game is set at 7 p.m. on Saturday night.
