ECUpirates.com to Offer Live Official Football Stats

GREENVILLE, N.C. -- ECUpirates.com, the official web site of East Carolina University athletics, will feature live, online statistics for Saturday night's ECU-Tulane football game.
Online fans will be able to follow each play of the game as the live stats feed originates from the official statistician's computer at the Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium press box. The enhancement gives the fans an opportunity to both listen to the game online, via the Pirate Sports Network and WCZI's online audio feed, and follow the play-by-play and stats numbers as they happen.
Football is the second sport to receive the live statistics enhancement on ECUpirates.com. A majority of the 2002 Pirate baseball games were "webcast," and similar plans are in place for men's and women's basketball home games in 2002-03.
For football, only home games are planned for live stats feeds in 2002.
The online stats feed is the first of several major enhancements planned for ECUpirates.com in the coming months.
