
Lady Pirates Welcome Campbell on Tuesday Night

TUESDAY'S MATCH-UP
This Tuesday, January 14, the East Carolina women's basketball team will host Campbell
University in its final non-conference outing of the season. The Camels are currently 5-6,
and 1-0 in the Atlantic Sun Conference. Tuesday's outing will be the 37th all-time meeting
between the two teams. East Carolina leads the series 30-6. Game time is set for 7 p.m. at
Williams Arena at Minges Coliseum.
Already this year the ECU women have one more win than the total number of wins for the entire 2001-02 campaign. With seven wins under their belts, the Pirates have four more wins than at this point last year. It is also the first time since the 2000-01 season that the women have been .500 or higher in the first 13 games of the year. (2000- 01, 7-6 through 13 games).
SCOUTING THE PIRATES
Both Jennifer Jackson and Courtney Willis
lead the Lady Pirates with an average of 14.6
points per game. Jackson leads the team in
rebounds, averaging 7.8 boards per outing,
while Willis is a close second with an average
of 7.5 rebounds.
Tali Robich is also averaging doublefigures in scoring, with 10.5 points per game.
The Lady Pirates have seven wins on the year, with an overall record of 7-6.
ECU has competed in three in-season tournaments this year. The Pirates were the champions of the U.S. Cellular Classic at East Carolina, and were runners-up in the UNCG Marriott Classic and the Atlanta NW Marriott Classic.
The Pirates are shooting 42.7 percent from the field this season, and 68.1 percent from the free throw line.
In nine of the Pirates' 13 games this season, three or more players have posted double-figure points.
In the games against Bethune-Cookman and Alabama, every participating player scored at least two points. Against Bethune- Cookman and North Carolina A&T every participating player had at least one rebound.

SCOUTING THE CAMELS
Campbell is returning one starter and eight
letterwinners from last season's 13-15 season.
The Camels finished 11-9 in the Atlantic Sun
Conference, which placed them seventh in the
league.
This season the Camels are 5-6, and have won their first conference game of the season, a 76-64 win over Gardner-Webb.
Kristal Troy leads the team in scoring with an average of 15.1 points per game. She is the only player to average double points. The second-leading scorer is Jennifer Lodge with an average of 6.1 points per game.
Troy also leads the team in rebounds with an average of 7.0 boards per outing.
As a team, the Camels are shooting 40.2 percent from the field and 73.5 percent from the free throw line.
The Camels are under the direction of Wanda Watkins, in her 22nd season for Campbell. She has compiled a 368-221 record at the helm of the Camel bench.
