ECU Women Travel to George Mason

Courtney Willis leads the Pirates in
scoring this season, averaging 14.2 points per
game. Tali Robich (11.0) and Jennifer
Jackson (13.5) are close behind, also averaging
double numbers.
The Lady Pirates are 5-5 this season, with
wins coming over Howard, Bethune-
Cookman, Alabama, and North Carolina
A&T, and Florida Atlantic.
The Pirates are shooting 42.5 percent from
the field this season, and 64.9 percent from
the free throw line.
In seven of the Pirates' 10 games this
season, three or more players have posted
double-figure points. The only three games in
which three players didn't hit double-figured
scoring were the Duke, North Carolina A&T,
and Florida Atlantic games.
In the games against Bethune-Cookman
and Alabama, every participating player
scored at least two points. Against Bethune-
Cookman and North Carolina A&T every
participating player had at least one rebound.
The Lady Pirates have already won three
more games than at this point in the season
last year, and have more than half as many
wins as the entire 2001-02 season.

This Friday, January 3, the East Carolina women's basketball team will travel to Fairfax, Va., to take on George Mason in a non-conference match-up. It will be the 45th all-time meeting between the two teams. East Carolina leads the series 23-21. The game is slated for a 7 p.m. start at the Patriot Center on the GMU campus.
