October 18, 2003 | Men's Basketball
The scrimmage culminated nearly two hours of activities surrounding Midnight Madness on the ECU campus. The Pirates, who return four starters from last year's squad, hold their first official practice Saturday morning.
Sophomore forward Corey Rouse narrowly missed a double-double, but finished with 10 points, including a pair of three-pointers, and nine rebounds to lead the Gold. Freshman Frank Robinson added six points for the Gold team.
Freshmen Mike Cook scored eight points for the purple, while fellow freshman Japhet McNeil scored four points, dished out three assists and three steals. Junior Moussa Badiane and senior Gabriel Mikulas each contributed four points for the Purple. Badiane, the school's all-time leader in blocked shots, swatted away three shots.
Senior Erroyl Bing yanked five rebounds and contributed four points for the Gold. Sophomore Belton Rivers also chipped in five points and handed out four assists for the Gold.
The Pirates will host World Young Stars in their first exhibition game of the season on Thursday, Nov. 6.
