WITN-TV To Produce Four ECU Basketball Games

GREENVILLE, N.C. ? WITN-TV 7, "The Official Station of the Pirates", will produce and televise three East Carolina men's basketball games and one women's game during the 2003-04 season announced university officials on Monday.

The first telecast of the season will be Saturday, Dec. 27 as Bill Herrion's Pirates will take on Virginia Tech at the Constant Convocation Center in Norfolk, Va. at 7 p.m. WITN will also produce home games against DePaul (Jan. 31) and TCU (Feb. 21), with both games scheduled for 7 p.m.

The NBC affiliate will also broadcast the women's game against Marquette on Jan. 31 at 2 p.m.

"Voice of the Pirates" Jeff Charles and WITN Sports Director Billy Weaver will serve as the telecasters for each game.
