Pirates Host Hoops Exhibition Tonight
November 06, 2003 | Men's Basketball
GREENVILLE, N.C. -- East Carolina's men's basketball team makes its unofficial 2003-04 debut tonight (Thursday) at Williams Arena at Minges Coliseum when the Pirates take on World HoopStars in an exhibition game.
Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under. Tickets may be purchased at the gate.
Coach Bill Herrion's team returns eight lettermen, including four starters, from last year's squad that recorded the best start in half a century of Pirate basketball. Seniors Erroyl Bing, Gabriel Mikulas, and Derrick Wiley have been elected tri-captains for 2003-04.
The World HoopStars is a team comprised entirely of international players. The HoopStars lost to Coastal Carolina, 91-38, on Wednesday evening in Conway, S.C. The team's top player in that game was center Stevan Milosevic, a native of Montenegro, who scored nine points and grabbed a game-high 10 rebounds.
