FAIRFAX, Va. (AP)_ Raoul Heinen had career-highs of 23 points and 10 rebounds to lead George Mason to a 76-65 victory over East Carolina on Tuesday night, ending the Pirates' three-game winning streak.
Heinen shot 9-for-14, including 5-for-7 from 3-point range, and had four assists and a steal. Lamar Butler added 16 points for the Patriots (3-1), including three consecutive 3-pointers in a 17-0 run that gave the Patriots a 66-56 lead with 4:19 remaining.
Belton Rivers led East Carolina (3-1) with 13 points, including back-to-back 3-pointers that gave the Pirates a 56-49 lead midway through the second half.
Erroyl Bing added 11 points and 14 rebounds for East Carolina.
ECU returns to action Saturday at Seton Hall.
