STARKVILLE, Miss. (AP) -- Mississippi State on Tuesday hired J.B. Grimes of East Carolina to be the Bulldogs' offensive line coach.
Grimes has been coaching at the college level for 25 years. He was offensive line coach and assistant head coach for John Thompson at East Carolina this year.
Previously, Grimes spent five years as offensive line coach for Texas A&M. He has also worked under Frank Beamer at Virginia Tech from 1993-1997 and had two stints at Arkansas.
Grimes is the fifth assistant coach hired by new Bulldogs coach Sylvester Croom in the past three days, including Tennessee running backs coach Willie McCorvey, who was hired as offensive coordinator.
