GREENVILLE, N.C. -- East Carolina hosts Cincinnati in a three-game Conference USA baseball series at Harrington Field this weekend. The Pirates (16-9-1, 4-2 C-USA) have dropped each of their last two games, but have not lost consecutive home games this season. The Bearcats (7-15, 1-5) snapped a five-game losing streak against Virginia Commonwealth, but enter the series with seven losses in their last 10 games. The all-time series between the two is tied at 1-1-1. UC defeated the Pirates in their first-ever Conference USA game in Cincinnati last season, 8-5. ECU took game two of the series, 7-0, and the third game of the series ended in a 5-5 tie.

Cincinnati enters this weekend's series with an overall record of 7-15 an 1-5 in Conference USA. The Bearcats snapped a five-game losing streak by defeating VCU, 4-1, in Richmond on Wednesday night as Mike Foley picked up his first career victory. The Bearcats are batting just .218 as a team and have team earned run average of 5.45. Brad Schutz is Cincinnati's leading hitter with a .301 batting average and leads the team in RBIs with 17. Drew Saylor and Justin Neifer have each hit three home runs for the Bearcats this season. Nate Bouldin has posted three victories against two losses, while B.J. Borsa is the only other pitcher with two victories.
