ECU Renews Rivalry with W&M
William & Mary, a former rival from East Carolina's days in the Colonial Athletic Association, visits Harrington Field today in a battle of teams both looking to continue their recent winning ways. The Pirates have won four straight games while the Tribe has won four of its last five. In a long-running rivalry that spans over 35 years, ECU has won 74 of the 91 all-time meetings, including the last 20 in a row--a streak that dates back to the 1995 season.

About the Tribe
William & Mary, the CAA's second-place team last season, is off to a 7-3 start with wins over Georgetown, Norfolk State, Coastal Carolina, Maryland-Baltimore County (twice), and New York Tech (twice). The Tribe's losses have come against Georgetown, Coastal Carolina, and Liberty. Senior outfielder Michael Brown has had the hot bat for the Tribe as he enters today's game with a gaudy .571 batting average, five home runs, and 19 RBI. The team batting average of .342 is boosted by outfielder Mitch Walk and infielder John Lentz, both of whom are hitting over .400. Junior pitcher Chris Ray (2-0, 1.23 ERA) is a preseason All-America selection. William & Mary is coached be Jim Farr, who has led the Tribe to 285 victories over the past 10-plus seasons.
