Women's Cross Country Earns National Academic Honors

GREENVILLE, N.C. -- The East Carolina women's cross country team posted a team grade point average (GPA) of 3.43 to earn 2002-03 NCAA Division All-Academic Cross Country Team, With Distinction honors. The Pirates had the 37th highest GPA among Division I women's cross country teams.
To qualify as an All-Academic Cross Country team, the team must have a cumulative 3.00 GPA. All teams who earned a 3.25 and above are awarded All-Academic Cross Country Team, With Distinction honors.
ECU, under the tutelage of fourth-year head coach Len Klepack, was one of seven Conference USA squads to earn the award. Marquette, TCU, DePaul, and UAB also received honors with distinction, while Cincinnati and South Florida also received recognition.
