GREENVILLE, N.C. -- East Carolina (19-10-1, 6-3 CUSA) visits McEwen Field this weekend for a three-game Conference USA series against South Florida (19-10, 4-3 CUSA). The Pirates, who have won three of four and six of their last 10, enter the series off a 2-1 series win over Cincinnati and 7-2 midweek victory over Duke. The Bulls lost their weekend series against Louisville last week, 2-1, but are coming off an 8-5 victory over UCF on Tuesday night. ECU leads the all-time series with USF, 6- 1. The Pirates won four of five games between the two combatants last season, including a pair of games in the Conference USA Tournament.

Each of this weekend's game will and will be
available throughout eastern North Carolina on
the newly expanded Pirate Sports Network. Carrying
over 30 games on the network this year are
WGHB (1250 AM) in Farmville/Greenville, WRUP (97.9 FM) in New Bern/Morehead City, and
WSTK (910 AM) in Jacksonville. Dan Eberhard will call the play-by-play with ECU Director of
Media Relations Craig Wells providing color commentary. All games on the Pirate Sports Network can be heard
live on the internet through ECUpirates.com, the official web site of ECU athletics.
Saturday's game will be televised on Fox Sports Net Florida. Jim Louk and Todd Kalas serve as the game's telecasters.

Live scoring and statistical play-by-play will be available for all three of this weekend's games on
the internet through the official web site of the Pirates, ECUpirates.com. The statistical feed, which
updates live after each batter, is made possible through a direct connection from the official
statistician's scorebook computer and will be available for a majority of ECU's home and road
games in 2003.
Scouting South Florida
The Bulls are 19-10 through their first 29 games and have a 4-3 record in seven Conference USA
games this season. . USF has one of the best hitting teams in Conference USA posting a .314 team
batting average with eight players hitting above a .300 clip. Sophomore catcher Devin Ivaney leads
the way with a .409 average with a team-high 28 RBI. USF starting pitchers have claimed 16 of the
Bulls 19 victories this season led by David Austen's six wins. Travis Rios is the Bulls' top strikeout
artist, fanning 44 batters in 32.2 innings pitched. South Florida has a team ERA of 3.97, allowing
117 earned runs in 265.1 innings pitched.
