Diamond Pirates Back in the Polls
04/08/2003
GREENVILLE, N.C. -- After posting a 3-1 record in four games last week, East Carolina reappeared in the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Top 35 poll for the first time since Feb. 17, ranked No. 32 this week. The Pirates began the season ranked No. 30 by the association.
ECU has compiled a 21-11-1 overall record through its first 33 games of the season and an 8-4 mark in Conference USA play. The Pirates are currently one game back in the hunt for the C-USA Regular Season Championship behind Southern Miss and Houston. ECU has won each of its first four conference series, two games to one.
The Pirates return to action on Wednesday, April 9 in Durham against Duke and then retake the field Friday at 6 p.m. for the first of a three-game C-USA series against Memphis at Harrington Field.
