GREENVILLE, N.C. ? Rain showers, lightening and a forecast for severe thuderstorms in the Greenville area forced the suspension of Saturday night's Conference USA baseball game between East Carolina and UAB with the Blazers leading 10-4 with one out in the top of the sixth inning.
The game will resume at 12 p.m., Sunday with the scheduled third game of the series to follow approximately 30 minutes afterwards.
After being held scorless in the first two innings, UAB scored at least two runs in each of the next four innings highlighted a by four-run fourth. The Blazers scored two runs in the sixth on the strength of Kyle Leon's two-run home run and had a runner at first when the game was suspended. ECU inserted its fourth pitcher of the game, Jason Tournageau, just prior to the rain.
