
Volleyball Drops Two at CCU Tournament

Sophomore libero Johanna Bertini tied a season-high with 17 digs. Bertini also was named to the All-tournament team posting 40 digs in three matches over the weekend. Katie Jannusch added 11 kills for the Pirates and Jaime Bevan chipped in nine kills.
Emily Busch led EMU with 15 kills. Jennifer Nighswander recorded a double-double with 11 kills and 15 digs. Eastern Michigan hit .261 in the match while the Pirates hit .176. ECU out-dug EMU, 59-56.
Coastal Carolina defeated East Carolina, 30-21, 30-26, 30-26
Coastal Carolina's Sarah Bennett posted a match-high 14 kills to lead three players in double figures as Coastal swept through ECU in three straight games. Katie Jannusch led the Pirates with 10 kills while Jaime Bevan, Sarah Vick and Pam Ferris each added seven kills.
Coastal Carolina out-hit ECU. 294-.161 in the match. Katherine Jensen and Alicia Meyers both had 11 kills for Coastal.
The Pirates will take some time off before heading to North Carolina A&T on Sept. 30.
