
ECU Cross Country Completes Overton-Pirates Invitational

GREENVILLE, N.C. ?? The East Carolina men and women's cross country teams completed competition today in the Overton-Pirates Invitational held at Lake Kristi in Grimesland, N.C.
ECU's men's team finished sixth out of eight teams competing with a total score of 165. Individually for the Pirates, Matt Dennish finished 26th (27:36.67) and Preston Holman finished 27th (27:36.97) in the 8K run. Wake Forest took home the team title recording 22 points and finished one-two individually with Shane Ahlers finishing 19 seconds ahead of Joel Conn.
In the women's meet, ECU placed seventh of seven teams. Lillian Ricardo was the Pirates' top finisher coming in 26th with a time of 20:44.97 in the 5K run. Western Kentucky claimed the team title as they had six runners finish in the top seven. The ECU cross country team will return to action on Saturday, Oct. 16 at the State Regional Preview at Lake Kristi in Grimesland, N.C.
