Cross Country Travels To Chicago For C-USA Championships
October 29, 2004 | Men's Cross Country
Senior Kyle MacKenzie will try to defend his 2003 individual title. MacKenzie became the first East Carolina athlete to win the individual title last season as he covered the 8K course in 25:07.20. Recently named to the C-USA All-Decade Team, he has earned all-conference accolades each of the past two years by finishing among the top 15. Matt Gorman, Matt Hanlon, Kristian Jorgensen and Craig Schmidt are also hoping for strong performances.
On the women's side, senior Johanna Allen is looking to return to the form that earned her all-conference honors as a sophomore in 2001, where she finished in seventh place. Fellow senior Caitlin Littlefield will also attempt to repeat as an all-conference performer. Last season she earned third team all-conference honors with a 13th place finish.
Both the men and women's team finished eighth last season at the C-USA Championships.
