
Lady Pirates Add Jihan Howard to 2004-05 Roster

GREENVILLE, N.C. -- East Carolina University head women's basketball coach Sharon Baldwin-Tener announced today that Jihan Howard (Raleigh, N.C.) has been granted an NCAA waiver and will be added to the 2004-05 baskeball roster.
Howard, a 6-5 center, comes to the Pirates from Word of God Christian Academy where she averaged 14.5 points, 10 rebounds, 6.8 blocks and 2.8 steals, while shooting 48 percent from the floor and 73 percent from the free throw line. During her senior campaign, she helped Word of God to a 26-5 overall record and a second place finish at the National Christian Invitational.
As a junior, Howard earned all-state honors and was rated by NCISAA as one of the state's top-10 players regardless of position. She was invited to the Adidas top-10 All-American camp and guided Word of God to a 12-7 record and the runner-up in the NCISAA I-A division.
