BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. (AP) _ Tim Jennings scored a career-high 20 points as Gardner-Webb beat East Carolina 90-to-60 for its first win against a Conference USA opponent.
Brian Bender and Simon Conn each added 18 points for Gardner-Webb.
East Carolina trailed by 41-31 at halftime, but lost its shooting touch in the second half. The Pirates made just eight-of-28 shots from the field and only one-of-ten from behind the three-point line.
At the same time, the Bulldogs (2-0) got hot, connecting on seven-of-11 three-point tries and making 53 percent of its shots from the floor to stretch their lead.
The Pirates (2-2) also couldn't get a handle on the ball, turning it over 19 times to just nine for Gardner-Webb.
Mike Cook led East Carolina with 15 points before fouling out. Corey Rouse had 13 points and eleven boards.
