
Women's Hoops Falls To Savannah State, 62-56

Savannah, Ga. -- The East Carolina women's basketball team dropped its fourth game in a row as they fell to Savannah State 62-56 Wednesday night inside Tiger Arena.
The Pirates (1-4) couldn't jump start their offense in the second half as they hit 10-of-35 shots from the floor and Savannah State hit 16-of-23 free throws down the stretch. Senior Jennifer Jackson reccorded her first double-double of the season as she collected 14 points and 10 boards.
In the first half, ECU jumped out to a 10-3 lead behind Sutton's second basket in the first five minutes of play. They would keep their lead carry a 20-14 lead over the Tigers (2-3) with 9:24 remaining before the Tigers went on a 10-0 run to tie the game at 24-24 behind Nicole Hunter's jumper with 4:59 left at intermission. The Tigers went up three (32-29) when Lakisha Green drained a three pointer as time expired in the first half.
ECU will be back in action this weekend when they host the CPW's/ Atavola's Lady Pirate Invitational. The Pirates will face Stephen F. Austin on Saturday, Dec. 4 with the tip scheduled at 3 p.m. In the first game, nationally ranked Baylor will take on Jackson State at 1 p.m.
