ECU Football Team To Hold Food Drive At Final Scrimmage
March 29, 2004 | Football
The game is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start and admission is free to both ECU students and the public. ECU students will also be given the opportunity to compete for prizes in a variety of contests.
"Our team wanted to make this scrimmage meaningful to the community," said head coach John Thompson. "The entire community has been so supportive of this football team that we wanted to do something to give back to it."
"We were primarily going to do this for our students, but we decided we also wanted to get the community involved," stated Thompson. "We'll divide the teams between offense and defense, put a point system on the game, and finish up that way."
The Pirates will practice Tuesday and Wednesday, before concluding spring practice Thursday night.
