Football Practice Moves To Dowdy-Ficklen For First Scrimmage
March 05, 2004 | Football
ECU ran about 40 plays in the scrimmage, showing a mix of running and passing with a number of big plays being made on the defensive side.
"The guys are getting after it, but we've got a long way to go," Pirate defensive coordinator Jerry Odom said. "We've had some guys dinged up a little bit here and there, and have gotten a few guys back which helps with depth. The competition level is pretty good.
"The guys are trying hard, which is all you can ask them to do. We're not busting as many assignments as we did last year at this time, which is encouraging."
Quarterbacks Desmond Robinson, James Pinkney, and Patrick Dosh all saw snaps during Friday's scrimmage.
The Pirates will return to the practice fields on Monday after having a weekend off. They will practice Monday through Wednesday before devoting Thursday to a full situational scrimmage.
