Pirate Baseball Ranked in Top 10 in All Four Polls

The East Carolina baseball team moved into the Top 10 in all four collegiate baseball polls including the highest ranking in school history at No. 7 in the Baseball America Poll. ECU is ranked No. 8 by the National Collegiate Baseball Writer's Association, No. 9 by Collegiate Baseball and the ESPN/Sports Weekly Coaches' Poll after the remaining polls were released Tuesday. ECU is also ranked No. 2 among southeastern schools in the SEBaseball.com poll
The No. 7 ranking is the highest ranking for the Pirates in school history. The 2001 team was ranked eighth by Baseball America in the May 27, 2001 poll.
The Pirates moved up two spots this week in the Baseball America poll and jumped seven spots in the Collegiate Baseball Poll. ECU is riding a school and conference 16-game winning streak after sweeping three games from Louisville over the weekend. The Pirates moved up to No. 15 in the college baseball RPI configured by boydsworld.com.
ECU takes the mid-week off before hosting Houston at 7 p.m. Friday in the first game of a three game Conference USA series. Saturday's and Sunday's starts will both be at 1 p.m.
