Munson and Manning Hired at Western Michigan
January 14, 2005 | Volleyball
GREENVILLE, N.C. --Colleen Munson, head volleyball coach at East Carolina the past five seasons, has been named to the same position at Western Michigan University. Assistant coach Ryan Manning is also leaving ECU to become an assistant under Munson at WMU.
Munson and Manning return to a familiar school for both coaches. Munson was an assistant coach with the Broncos from 1997-99 and Manning served as a volunteer assistant with the Broncos while an undergraduate at Western Michigan.
Munson replaces Cathy George, who left Western Michigan after 11 years to take the head coaching duties at Michigan State.
In her five seasons leading the Pirate volleyball program, Munson guided ECU to the Conference USA tournament twice, in 2001 and 2004.
