
TCU Too Much For Lady Pirates Basketball 66-41

FORT WORTH, Texas -- The East Carolina women's basketball team couldn't find an answer for Sandora Irvin and the TCU Lady Frogs Sunday afternoon, falling 66-41 in Conference USA action at Daniel-Meyer Coliseum.
Jennifer Jackson led the Pirates (10-16, 6-7) with 11 points, her 69th double-figure game of her career. Freshman Nicole Days added nine points, while Shanita Sutton scored eight points and Viola Cooper contributed with seven.
TCU (19-8, 10-3) jumped out early on the Pirates 6-0 in the first 2:39 before Jennifer Jackson connected on her lone basket of the first half, a three-pointer to help start a 7-2 run to pull within one, 8-7, with 15:32 remaining until the half. With her 3-pointer, Jackson moved into second place on ECU's all-time 3-point field goals made list 156.
The Lady Frogs closed out the half on a 10-2 run highlighted by seven points by Sandoa Irvin in the final 2:15 to take a 35-17 halftime lead.
In the second half, it was all TCU as it out scored the Pirates 31 to 24 to take a 25-point victory. Irvin finished with a game-high 23 points and nine rebounds.
East Carolina will be back on the court Saturday, Feb. 26 at 2 p.m. when it hosts in-state rival Charlotte inside Williams Arena at Minges Coliseum on Senior Day.
