
Heidi Helliesen Tied For 13th After First Round Of C-USA Championships

GERMANTOWN, TN. - East Carolina women's junior golfer Heidi Helliesen recorded a four-over par 76 in the opening round of the Conference USA Women's Championship and currently sits in a tie for 13th place. The tournament is being played at the par-72, 6,178-yard Germantown Country Club.
The Pirates (79-54-3), who are tied for sixth, have three other golfers in the top-23 after the first round. Senior Adrienne Millican, sophomore Jessica Hauser and freshman Emelie Lind all posted rounds of 79.
South Florida's Fernanda Rivera (70) leads the individual portion of the tournament and has a one stroke lead over TCU's Stacey Bieber. Louisville's Adrienne White is third after a round of 72, while Alison Walshe (Tulane), Christina Jones (USF) and Elin Emanuelsson (TCU) are all tied for fourth at 73.
TCU's round of 294 has them in first place with a four-stroke advantage over USF (298) and Tulane (298). Southern Miss (309) is in fourth place and host school Memphis (311) rounds out the top-five.
Second round action will begin Tuesday morning with final round action concluding on Wednesday.
