GREENVILLE, N.C. -- Sophomore forward Anastasia Nikas (Scottsdale, Ariz.) netted three of East Carolina's five goals Sunday afternoon in a 5-0 win over the North Carolina ODP squad in spring action at Bunting Field.
The Pirates (2-1) also got goals from sophomore Allison Howell (Advance, N.C.) and junior Meghan McCallion (Long Island, N.Y.)
"Overall it was good to be playing again," said Head Coach Rob Donnenwirth. "I felt the team adjusted to our new system as the game progressed. Anastasia had a break out game. It was good to see her hard work pay off with three goals."
ECU will be back in action on Saturday, April 9 when they participate in the Cup of Life Tournament in Fayetteville, N.C. The Pirates are scheduled to face Atlantic Coast Conference schools Duke at 11:30 a.m. and Wake Forest at 3:15 p.m.
